Office and home-visit hypnotherapy sessions are by appointment only.
The mission of Calminsense Hypnotherapy® is to help individuals achieve their specific vocational and avocational self-improvement goals, from losing weight to improving communication to managing stress, as well as overcoming self-defeating behaviors and building self-esteem. As the majority of our conscious behavior is rooted in the subconscious, the “will power” of the conscious brain is not enough to correct consistent patterns of behavior that are not working for you. Hypnotherapy can help by tapping into the 88% of your subconscious brain where the root of the problem lies and, therefore, where the change must occur.
Hypnosis has been used as a therapeutic tool for centuries. It is a safe, drug-free method that allows you to gain access to your subconscious and re-write your mental scripts in a positive direction. Contrary to popular belief, you are not “asleep” during a hypnotherapy session. In fact, once your body is completely relaxed, your mind is actually more alert than in your normal waking state.
Hypnotherapy works on the principal of ‘suggestibility,’ but you are always in control while in hypnosis. You cannot be made to say or do anything which would conflict with your personal ethics and/or desires. It is interesting to note that the Department of Veterans’ Affairs recognizes hypnotherapy as an effective treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in its returning veterans; and celebrities and other public figures have used hypnosis to quit smoking, lose weight, increase self-confidence and even reduce symptoms of extreme morning sickness.

California law allows access by California residents to complementary and alternative health care practitioners who are not providing services that require medical training and credentials. The purpose of a program of hypnotherapy is for vocational and avocational self-improvement (Business and Professions Code 2908) and as an alternative or complementary treatment to healing arts services licensed by the state. A hypnotherapist is not a licensed physician or psychologist, and hypnotherapy services are not licensed by the state of California. Services are non-diagnostic and do not include the practice of medicine, neither should they be considered a substitute for licensed medical or psychological services or procedures.
